Want to protect your images

One of the inevitable’s of life on the internet is it’s near impossible to stop someone from taking an image for use.  As a photographer, I have been trained to post low resolution images which never lets me show the image as I want to.

As a photographer it’s my right to get payment for use of an image on another website or a viewer’s desktop, it’s impossible to get payment if you don’t know.  My policy is simple, I can supply a better quality image for anyone who wants to use it on their computer or device screen for no cost, and I have never run across someone using my images to make money.  I would prefer if someone asks whenever one wants to use an image.

I found a site that is now offering a free account, which lets you as the photographer upload up to 10,000 4 mega pixels or smaller images to be tracked.  I am not 100% sure how the service works, I know from others that it does.  It will allow some control over what sites you want or don’t want to use an image and who owns the site, if you want the image pulled.

You can visit https://www.imagerights.com/ to sign up for the free account.  They have paid accounts which are actually quite nicely priced.

The other site I would consider trying is at http://www.tineye.com/

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
